About the riding
Castle Ward offers 21 miles of ungraded multi-use estate trails through woodland, farmland and along Strangford Lough. Riding is scenic and exploratory rather than technical: expect gravel tracks, roots, loose stones, gates, road crossings and shared sections where speed must be controlled. It suits families, leisure riders and eMTB users wanting a longer estate tour, not riders seeking red or black descents. Parking, toilets, refreshments and a small fleet of standard hire bikes are available through the National Trust property; electric hire bikes are not currently offered.
