About the riding
Castlewellan has a purpose-built progression around the forest park and lake. The green loop is wide and family friendly, the blue route adds undulating woodland singletrack and rollers, and the longer red trail climbs above the castle before returning on faster technical descents. Black options exist but are currently closed while storm damage is repaired, and parts of other trails may be diverted. Parking and toilets are available in the forest park, with bike and e-bike hire and bike-wash facilities at the trailhead operator.
