About the riding
Cwmcarn offers five purpose-built trails close to Newport. Pwca is blue and moderate, Cafall and Twrch are red cross-country routes with long climbs and technical singletrack, Pedalhounds is black, and Y Mynydd is an extreme double-black descent. Expect steep valley sides, roots, rocks, drop-offs and fast committed riding on the harder lines. Y Mynydd is currently closed, so check the official page before travelling. Charged parking, toilets and visitor facilities are available at the main centre.
