Gwydir Forest - Sawbench and Hafna

Betws-y-Coed, North Wales, Wales

About the riding

Sawbench and Hafna are two trailheads for the red-graded Gwydir Mawr network. The full 24.8 km route is a North Wales classic with big forest-road climbs, rocky technical singletrack and long descents; the shorter Gwydir Bach concentrates two steep climbs and a strong descent into 9.1 km. Hafna also joins the full loop. Hazardous tree-felling operations can affect both areas, so obey closures and signage. Parking is free but there are no staffed facilities, making tools, spares, food and water essential.
