About the riding
High Lodge in Thetford Forest offers a clear progression from family riding to technical cross-country. The green Shepherd Trail uses broad, mostly level forest tracks; the blue Beater Trail adds singletrack, roots and small obstacles; and the red Lime Burner is narrower and more demanding, with drop-offs and optional black-grade pits. A pump track provides short skills sessions near the visitor hub. The sandy woodland terrain is not steep mountain riding, but it rewards fitness and precision. Parking, toilets, café and cycle hire are available on site.
