Haldon Forest Park (near Exeter)

Haldon Forest is one of the most practical eMTB venues in Devon because it sits close to Exeter and offers the kind of predictable, waymarked riding that suits repeat visits. The overall feel is trail-centre style rather than raw moorland: you’ll typically link forest roads and built trail sections into loops that match your time and ability. For eMTB riders, it’s a strong training venue—pedal-assist helps you repeat climbs and sections without fading, which is ideal for skills practice and fitness laps.

Because it’s a Forestry England site, Haldon tends to be easier to plan than informal bridleway riding: clearer parking, clearer access rules, and a better chance of consistent surfaces. It can still get slick and soft in winter, and busy at weekends, but it remains one of the best “known quantity” options in Devon—especially if you want to ride without the commitment of bigger-mountain terrain.
