COROS has announced the DURA 2 Solar, a £429 GPS bike computer with a larger screen, voice controls and claimed battery life of up to 120 hours. For mountain bikers, however, one of the most useful details is tucked away in the mount specifications: the standard aluminium mount is listed for 25.4–31.8mm handlebars.
That means riders with a 35mm bar need to check an alternative mounting solution before ordering the bundle. It is a practical consideration alongside the headline screen and solar upgrades, especially if you are buying a computer for an existing eMTB rather than building a cockpit around it.
What changes with the COROS DURA 2 Solar?
Announced on 22 October, the new computer has a 3.5-inch SHARP memory-in-pixel touchscreen, an aluminium bezel and carbon-fibre back. COROS quotes a weight of 99g. The official product page also lists street and trail names, turn-by-turn guidance and climb detection that does not require a loaded route.
The quoted battery figures depend on the satellite setting: 120 hours in All Systems mode or 70 hours in dual-frequency mode, before solar charging. COROS says direct sun can add two hours of running time per hour of exposure. Those are manufacturer claims, not results from an Electric MTB UK test.

For UK woodland riding, our advice is to treat solar charging as a bonus rather than plan a route around the headline gain. Shade, short winter days and feature use make the underlying battery reserve more relevant than the prospect of never plugging it in.
Controls combine the touchscreen with mechanical and haptic buttons, plus voice commands. There is an important distinction in the published specification: starting activities and changing settings are listed, but voice search for a navigation destination is marked as coming soon. Buyers should not assume every advertised future function will be available on day one.
COROS also promotes offline rerouting and includes dedicated MTB and eMTB activity modes. An eMTB recording mode should not be taken as proof that the unit can read battery or motor data from every electric-bike system; check the exact connection you want before buying.
UK price, availability and the mount check
The COROS UK listing gives a price of £429 without a mount and £479 with the standard aluminium mount. The brand’s launch announcement states that sales begin on 3 November. At the time of writing, this is an announced product, not a claim of immediate UK dispatch.
Check the handlebar diameter where the mount will clamp. COROS specifies 25.4–31.8mm compatibility for its standard mount, so do not assume it will clamp onto a 35mm MTB bar. If you already own a suitable mount, the unit-only option may make more sense—but confirm the computer interface, clearance and load limits rather than relying on appearance.

For riders comparing alternatives, our GPS bike computer buying guide puts the wider market in context, while our Garmin Edge MTB review covers a trail-focused option. The DURA 2 Solar’s large display and battery claims make it worth watching. Wet-glove control, navigation on real trails and a secure fit on your bike are the checks that should decide a purchase.
