DYEDBRO NEO frame protection targets complex MTB and eMTB shapes

DYEDBRO has introduced NEO, a new range of patterned frame protection with a dedicated MTB/e-bike kit. The emphasis is on making the film easier to work around the bends and junctions of modern frames, while keeping the graphics that distinguish the brand from clear protection kits.

The range was announced in a DYEDBRO press release published on 29 October, with further coverage appearing on 30 October. The brand’s NEO range page confirms separate MTB/e-bike and gravel options.

What is different about NEO?

NEO combines flexible vinyl with a 100-micron protective laminate. DYEDBRO says the material can conform to complex frame contours when applied with heat, helping the film sit neatly around shapes that can be awkward to wrap. The 100-micron figure describes the laminate, rather than establishing the thickness of every layer in the finished kit.

The graphics use water-based inks. Resistance to weather, ultraviolet exposure and yellowing are manufacturer claims; we have not yet tested how the finish holds up through repeated muddy rides and washing.

A dedicated MTB and e-bike version

DYEDBRO quotes 48g for the MTB/e-bike kit and 46g for the gravel version. It says the former provides extra coverage for larger down tubes and complex rear triangles, while the gravel kit addresses narrower tubing and different wear points.

For riders, coverage matters more than the small difference in claimed weight. Check that the supplied shapes reach the areas your shoes, cables and luggage actually rub. An eMTB’s larger down tube does not automatically make every universal protector a good fit.

NEO or clear EVO protection?

NEO is the patterned option. DYEDBRO’s EVO range is the alternative for riders who want to retain the appearance of the original paint, using clear protection and a wet application method. Follow the fitting instructions for the specific kit; the two ranges should not be treated as the same installation job.

UK pricing for the new NEO kits has not been confirmed in the launch information checked. Existing DYEDBRO offers may refer to older protection, so check the NEO name and the MTB/e-bike version before comparing prices.
