Karoo update fixes repeated radar alerts and adds KGhost extension

Hammerhead’s latest Karoo software update tackles repeated radar-disconnection alerts and adds another option for riders who like chasing a previous effort.

Build 1.658.2535, released on 1 October, changes the alert logic so the computer does not deliver several “radar disconnected” warnings in succession. It is a notification fix, rather than a change to the capabilities of the radar itself.

A virtual riding partner, if you want one

KGhost has also joined Karoo’s Extension Library. The optional extension lets riders follow a virtual partner or compare their progress with earlier routes and segments, using a live gap and a marker on the map.

For an eMTB rider, a repeatable climb could be a useful place to try that feature. Keep the bike’s assistance setting consistent if you want the comparison to mean much: changing mode, battery load or trail conditions can all alter the result. A time gap is also no reason to hurry through a busy trail junction or past walkers.

There is a separate iPhone fix

Hammerhead’s release notes also list iOS Companion version 1.36.0. That update addresses activities with pauses across multiple laps failing to upload to Apple Health. It is a companion-app change, so the version number is separate from the software running on the Karoo.

Existing owners who have encountered either issue have a clear reason to check for the relevant update. Riders interested in KGhost can choose whether to install the extension; it does not need to become part of every ride.
