Muc-Off Foam Sprayer

Muc-Off launches the Foam Sprayer: snow-foam cleaning without a pressure washer

Muc-Off has launched a new Muc-Off Foam Sprayer, developed in collaboration with IK Sprayers, with a clear aim: make thick, clinging snow-foam cleaning possible even if you do not own a pressure washer. For many UK eMTB riders, that is not a niche idea. Winter riding creates grime that is hard to remove quickly. If your bike is stored indoors, you do not have access to an outdoor tap, or you simply want to clean the bike properly without blasting water at bearings and seals, winter riding creates grime that is hard to remove quickly.

The official announcement is here: Muc-Off Foam Sprayer press release, and the product page is here: Muc-Off Foam Sprayer.

What the Foam Sprayer is designed to do

The Foam Sprayer is designed to turn bike cleaner or snow foam into a dense lather that clings to the bike rather than running straight off. The practical advantage is that foam does more of the early work of softening and lifting dirt, so you can rinse and wipe with less aggressive scrubbing.

That matters on any bike, but it matters more on eMTBs because there is typically more going on around the drivetrain area and more places where gritty paste can pack in, especially around pivots, linkages and cable runs.

Why this matters for UK eMTB riding

This is a product that suits how many people actually ride in the UK. We get long stretches where the trails are constantly wet, the bike is constantly filthy, and cleaning becomes a chore you have to manage, not a nice-to-have.

A foam-first approach can reduce the temptation to proceed directly with a close-range, high-pressure jet. That is important because pressure washers are often used too close, too aggressively, and too frequently. A lower-pressure foam and rinse method can be a better default for year-round eMTB ownership, particularly if you are trying to keep bearings, suspension seals and drivetrain parts lasting through winter.

How it fits into a sensible cleaning routine

For most riders, the best use case is simple. Apply foam, let it dwell briefly to lift grime, then rinse at lower pressure and finish with a wipe where needed. The point is not to make the bike look showroom clean. The point is to remove abrasive grit before it gets dragged through moving parts.

If you ride often in winter, a faster, more consistent process usually keeps bikes quieter, smoother, and less prone to wear.

Price, kit option and who should buy it

Muc-Off lists the Foam Sprayer at £30, with the Foam Sprayer Kit at £85. If you already have brushes and cleaning products, you may only need the sprayer itself. If your cleaning setup is patchy and you want a more complete solution in one go, the kit route will appeal.

It makes the most sense for riders who clean frequently throughout winter, for riders without a pressure-washer setup, or for anyone looking to improve maintenance without turning every wash into a long job.
