RockShox issues ZEB stop-ride notice: check your fork’s serial number

RockShox has asked owners of certain model-year 2027 ZEB forks to stop riding while it investigates a potential safety issue with a RockShox ZEB stop-ride notice. For MTB and eMTB riders, the immediate job is to check the model and serial number before heading out again.

In a statement supplied to Pinkbike on 30 October, RockShox identified ZEB Ultimate, ZEB Ultimate Flight Attendant, ZEB Select+ and ZEB Select forks with serial numbers from 07T6XXXXXXXX to 42T6XXXXXXXX.

Where to find the serial number

The number is on the back of the fork crown and can be read with the fork fitted. RockShox’s instruction is to stop riding forks within that range while its evaluation continues.

What has RockShox confirmed?

The company says it is assessing a potential safety issue and a RockShox ZEB stop-ride notice has been given. Its statement does not yet set out a repair procedure or completion date. RockShox says that, if action is required, it will work with affected riders to resolve the issue at no cost.

Check the fork, not just the bike’s year

Model-year labels can be confusing when bikes and components reach shops at different times. Use the actual fork identification rather than assuming that the year on a bike listing settles the question. Keep a photograph of the number and contact your retailer or RockShox support if you need help identifying it.

This is a stop-ride notice during an ongoing evaluation. A confirmed remedy has not been announced in the statement, so do not treat a pressure top-up or a normal-feeling fork as clearance to ride.
