Rider on a peach-coloured Scott E-Ville step-through electric bike on a city street

Scott E-Ville 10 SUV brings full suspension to a £4,999 step-through

Scott’s new E-Ville 10 SUV puts full suspension, a dropper post and Bosch CX assistance into a low step-through bike. Priced at £4,999 on UK retailer Uprise’s listing, it is aimed at riders mixing everyday journeys with gravel paths and forest tracks. The listing is currently a pre-order, rather than confirmation that bikes are ready to leave the shop.

For Electric MTB UK readers, the interesting part is how much familiar mountain-bike equipment Scott has brought to this practical format. The important qualification is equally clear: Scott lists the E-Ville 10 SUV as a condition-two trekking bike. Full suspension and a powerful motor do not turn it into a bike-park or technical-trail eMTB.

What the Scott E-Ville 10 SUV gets

Scott’s specification lists a RockShox Recon Silver RL fork with 120mm travel, an integrated SR Suntour rear shock and a removable 800Wh Bosch PowerTube battery. Its Performance Line CX motor is rated at up to 100Nm, with a Kiox 300 display and Shimano CUES 11-speed transmission.

The Syncros dropper lets the rider lower the saddle when stopping, while an adjustable stem provides another way to alter the riding position. Schwalbe Advancer tyres and four-piston Shimano brakes complete the mixed-surface equipment. These are specifications, rather than findings from an Electric MTB UK ride test.

Practical kit, with limits worth checking

Lights, mudguards and a Racktime SNAPIT 2.0 carrier are included. Scott specifies a 20kg rack limit and a 160kg maximum total weight; that total includes the bike, rider, equipment and luggage. The bike itself is listed at approximately 31.16kg, which also deserves attention if you need to lift it onto a vehicle rack or carry it up steps.

The enclosed shock may look tidy, but rear suspension still brings servicing requirements alongside the fork. For buyers, the useful question is whether the comfort on rough everyday routes justifies that extra weight and maintenance. A shop demonstration on familiar surfaces will tell you more than the SUV badge alone.

Where it fits for UK riders

This is an option for someone whose week mixes commuting, shopping and gentler off-road exploring, particularly if stepping over a conventional top tube is awkward. It occupies different territory from a dedicated trail eMTB, where descending geometry, tyres and the manufacturer’s permitted use become more important.

Our Giant Explore E+ 1 review gives a tested reference point for practical mixed-surface riding. Before ordering the Scott, confirm the delivery date, fit and intended terrain with the retailer. Its UK listing establishes a price and pre-order route, not a firm delivery promise.
